The logo for French car company Citroën features two chevrons one on top of the other. André Citroën, a prominent freemason, founded the company in 1919. Within less then a decade, it became one of the largest car companies in the world.
The Citroen logo, comprising of two reversed “Vs”, is said to be influenced by André Citroën’s early business in gear-cutting. As a 22-year-old, he had visited Poland where he saw a chevron-shaped gear used in milling. The company later became a prominent manufacturer of double helically-cut gear teeth, which is brought together in the chevron.
