The pentagram is not complete. Rhode Island Avenue does not go all the way to Pennsylvania Avenue.

The 83″ (25.5 m) was first erected in Heliopolis, Egypt around 2500 BC. It was brought to the Julian Forum of Alexandria by Emperor Augustus and stood there until Emperor Caligula had it moved to Rome in 37 AD.
It was moved to its present location in 1586 under the orders of Pope Sixtus V.

Cleopatra’s Needle New York

Cleopatra’s Needle in New York is one a pair of obelisks from the rieh of Egyptian Pharaoh Tuthmosis III. Its twin is located in the City of London.
It was erected in New York City’s Central Park in a Masonic ceremony in 1881. The cornerstone was laid in place the previous year in a Masonic ceremony. Over 9000 Masons paraded through the streets of New York to celebrate its erection.

The movie From Hell, starring Johnny Depp, refers to the bloody history of Cleopatra’s Needle in a conversation between Jack the Ripper and one of his victims.
